Like Stock Options, Comix Catchup, Quick IRR Note

Figures that on the day Wired reports gmail invitations aren't worth anything on eBay anymore I'd get the ability to send three.

One's claimed. Two to go. First come, first served (in general).

I'm going to have to figure out a way to do better than "all the cool kids have been doing it for three months + 1 week" on this stuff.

While we're here, and on the "last to the party" tip:

Also, because it's an interesting quirk of Google, the recent attention to the IRR callup is getting some comment traffic from real, live soldiers dealing with the very quiet re-mob of our reserves. Billmon has a little more on that from the numbers perspective. Long and short: funny how the "spike" that led to 115,000 troops last winter ended up being 140,000, which will shortly be "spiking" to 145,000.

Comments

I'd love one, if you've got any of them left. I got beaten up by the RSSniks pretty good last week, hey?

Hey, jbm,

I guess so. Though I don't think any of them understood each other in their frenzy. :-)

Thanks, Leopoldo!

Now I'm wondering if you're the one who put the bug in my ear to try "Sin City" out in the first place... It seemed like an original idea at the time. :-)

I don't remember any specific conversation around Sin City, but I do know that if the topic ever turns to comics I invariably get to idolizing Frank Miller, one of only two artists who's works I will purchase. The other is Dave Sim who first impressed me and then disgusted me with the Cerebus series. I bought the last Cerebus trade paperback when it came out but still have not managed to drive myself to read the series to its end. From Miller I have The Dark Night Returns, the Martha Washington series, and I think the whole Sin City Series. I have information on the movie adaptation to Sin City at my blog:
